CPK is always great. I’ve never had a bad meal there and it’s the perfect atmosphere for a relaxed date night.

Especially when you’re looking forward to a quality Bloody Mary and GET ONE! (recommended)

I have also come to realize how unnecessary appetizers are (that never stops me/us from ordering them!?) but sometimes you’re so starving you can’t resist the greasy spinach artichoke dip with pita bread or cheesy, chicken nachos with jalapenos and olives piled high. Omg yummm. If you *think* you *need* an appetizer, you better be determined to limit yourself to a small portion! I (and I’m sure we all have) have gotten full from an appetizer or endless chips and salsa before my entree comes and end up eating most of my entree, too! EEK. Not good, not good. It’s also important (if possible) to be with a big, weight-lifting boy who can polish the rest off before you have a chance to let your self-control waiver.

When at CPK, opt for a convenient small plate like the Asparagus + Arugula Salad, Petite Wedge, or share the White Corn Guacamole w/ chips. Much better for you than the delicious and creeeeeeeeeeeeeamy Caesar salad Beck had to order. It was so, so yummy, though!

The Chicken Lettuce Wraps were on point, as well. Spicy, ginger-soy sauce chicken with crunchy water chestnuts and mushrooms all wrapped up in a crispy lettuce TACO! The order comes with 4, and I couldn’t NOT have one since Beck wanted them, so I *limited* myself to one…and longingly watched him eat the rest of the three like a sad puppy begging for table scraps. But I knew I would get stuffed from my entree! Self-control, people. PRACTICE IT! You’ll thank yourself.

I was focusing on eating lighter but also making sure my dinner had an abundance of flavor…luckily I made the right choice ordering the Grilled Chicken Chimichurri. The chicken was pounded thin and had a sensational, spicy chimichurri sauce over it. I could have drank it straight from a gravy boat. The sauteed vegetables were exceptional, as well. I try to avoid cooked greens with EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING…but the cooked spinach with the carrots, zucchini, mushroom, cauliflower was superb. A vibrant and well seasoned variety of veggies.

There’s also nothing better than the Chipotle Chicken Pizza CPK makes. I knew if I got it myself, I’d eat WAY too much of it, and that was nottttttttttt needed. Luckily, Beck chose to get it (hehehehehe) so I got my couple of bites (all I was needing). Who could resist the chipotle adobo sauce, pablano peppers, black bean/corn salsa, and crunchy, raw jalapeno piled on a thick, cornmealy crust?!

  1. That all sounds so yummy!!
    I love CPK…but I always order the Kung Pao Spaghetti with shrimp AND chicken…. So good!!! I think you would like it too. Their kung pao sauce is so yummy and it’s topped with garlic, scallions, peanuts and whole red chili peppers. The only way I get to try anything else there is when I steal…I mean share…some of my friends food. haha
